Abstract: Fiji Islands, a developing nation in the South Pacific, has meaningfully engaged in international trade within and outside the region. Overtime, Fiji’s tradable goods and services have improved in value, scale and quality. The opening of trade and capital accounts in the early 1990s has established Fiji as an important link to the region and beyond. Structural problems such as trade cost, declining productivity, lack of competitiveness and limited innovations; have hindered Fiji’s trade performance, despite Fiji having a dynamic trade policy.
