Abstract: The Pacific Islands, a group of small island countries spread across the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, are some of the most vulnerable nations to the effects of climate change whilst contributing just 0.03% of the world’s global emissions. This research consolidated and analysed global, regional and national frameworks and policies to determine Fiji’s progress in national greenhouse gas mitigation and to understand the unique perspectives of small Pacific island countries as they use regional cooperation to lead global climate change activism.
