Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the school stakeholders’ perceptions of discipline on their children and or students to prove whether or not their lack of discipline affects their academic performance in school. Qualitative data was collected from the Marshall Island High School (MIHS) stakeholders such as the teachers, administrators, students and their parents on Majuro. The results of the study revealed that poor or incorrect discipline at home and in school affect the students’ behavior and attitudes toward learning, which resulted in many students not academically performing to what is expected of them at MIHS. The stakeholders need to work together to create their home rules and improve the school policies and consistently follow them to change the behavior and attitude of their children or students towards learning. Doing this will contribute to teach the children and or students self-discipline and to alleviate the school long term problems and improve its academic performance.
