Students’ level of proficiency determines their performance in other academic subjects. This study used the quantitative approach to investigate the level of English proficiency and its relationship with the academic performance of Year 12 students. Moreover, it has further assessed the attitude of students, parents and the teachers to determine whether these factors affect the teaching and learning of English concepts.
