Abstract: Mamahi‘i me‘a: What it is and its applicability to children ages 3-5, is a qualitative study of 9 participants ranging from 56 to 91 years of age, on their perceptions of what mamahi‘i me‘a is and whether this Tongan virtue is applicable to Tongan children who are 3 to 5 years old. The intention of the study is primarily to understand what this Tongan virtue mamahi‘i me‘a means and why do Tongans see it as an indicator of success.
