Politically, Sulagwalu is included in the Lau/Baelelea Constituency, however, the language is neither Baelelea nor To’abaita thus the term ‘Communalect’ being used to refer to it. Although, several previous but related works have been done on most of the North Malaitan languages, Sulagwalu communalect has no specific records thereby being one of the key motivations to this study.
