Abstract: The renewal energy, particularly from wind and solar, is emerging as world’s fastest source of accepted substitute energy. Wind and solar energies are inexhaustible sources of energy with increased consumption around the world at a faster pace while the advancement of new wind projects continues to be hindered by absence of reliable wind resource data particularly in the developing countries. This emergences demand the need of evaluation of these resources. Wind and Solar resource evaluation in Nauru has received limited attention to date. The research in this thesis collected wind data from Anabar, which is located at the North-East of Nauru, and looked into the possibility whether solar energy can complement the wind energy at day time and if wind energy can compensate for lack of solar energy at night time. The study also looked at the seasonal variation of wind including Weibull parameters for this region, which is very close to the equator.
